First Look: Deepika Padukone’s killer look in ‘Race 2’

Suspense is the current trend in Bollywood. After ‘Talaash’ another intensified thriller that is coming up is Abbas Mustan’s ‘Race 2’. ‘Race’ was a blockbuster and ‘Race 2’ is going to be double the thrill. The film is going to be high in thrill and style. The first look of the movie was released which has Deepika Padukone.

After receiving lots of accolades for her performance in ‘Cocktail’, Deepika is back with her style, statement and acting with ‘Race 2’. She posed smashingly hot in the poster in a white gown with an Angelina Jolie-esque slit on the thigh. The blood red lipstick adds to the oomph factor.

The ‘Race 2’ poster reads ‘Betrayal Is Survival’. ‘Race 2’ is a much awaited movie and the stars are really working very hard to get into the skin of the character which has got different shades.

Producer Ramesh Taurani said about Deepika’s hard work, “Deepika is a very good actress no doubt, but she also works as hard in her preparations for the part. I must say I’m impressed with her sincerity and dedication. The shoot has been going great and we really enjoyed working with Deepika. She will emerge as the surprise element in the film”.

Saif Ali Khan who is again playing a pivotal role in ‘Race 2’ is equally making lot of efforts for the role. He went on a special diet to get into the rugged and thin look. Saif has been attending yoga classes to attain a good build up body.

Talking about this new fitness regime, Saif says, “I have always been into working out and leading a healthy lifestyle, but this role required me to go the extremes. Which is why, it was all the more important that I stick to this routine. I had to be at my fittest best. It was not just about getting the six pack, but also building endurance.”

Praising the actor’s initiative, producer Ramesh Taurani says, “By far, I think Saif looks his best in Race 2. He has gone all out to get the right physique, which has not only made him look great but has also helped him to perform challenging stunts.”

Jacqueline Fernandes, too is working hard for her role. “I have been preparing for my part since November last year to get into shape and be ready for my action outing,” she told.

She added, “In movies, action sequences performed by women require different training and techniques since they can’t train like guys. For women, its important to maintain flexibility and agility, along with a lot of fluidity. I am a trained gymnast. And now, in a way, I have gotten back to it. I am looking to do a lot of my own stunts, so I am working on different techniques. For example, I have been training in capoeira (the Brazilian martial arts). And I love it since it’s got a lot to do with dance. I have been doing a lot of flips too, besides yoga, that has been helping me a lot.”

“Race 2 will be made on as grand a scale as the original. We will be shooting in Turkey and Cyprus next,” director Abbas Burmawalla tells.

According to creative producer Jay Shewakramani, “The twists and turns and the style quotient of Race 2 is a notch higher. It is a perfect sequel.”

‘Race 2’ which is sequel to 2008 blockbuster ‘Race’  features actors Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernades and Ameesha Patel.
