Bal Thackeray’s death: Shah Rukh Khan breaks silence

Zeenews Bureau

Delhi: Several hours after the Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray passed away on Saturday, superstar Shah Rukh Khan finally broke his silence regarding the relationship that the two shared over the past couple of years.

The actor and Thackeray had a famous fallout after the latter’s Shiv Sena created troubles for SRK’s ‘My Name Is Khan’ in 2010. The party threatened to stop the release of the film following Shah Rukh’s remarks favouring the inclusion of Pakistani cricketers in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In another incident, Balasaheb had criticised SRK for his “misdemeanour” at the Wankhede Stadium.

After the veteran politician passed away yesterday, Shah Rukh took to Twitter to mouth his feelings, “We avoid building bridges out of personal issues & then it gets too late.i should hav gone & met BalaSahib. Will miss our chats R.I.P. sir…”

The actor had earlier expressed his concern over Thackeray’s bad health, “My prayers & wishes for Bala sahibji…may he recover soon & healthy from this battle.”

Balasaheb Thackeray passed away at 3.30 Saturday afternoon. He was 86.
